Even though my seats are only a measley 15kgs each *laughing* im looking at getting some a tad lighter (shouldn't be difficult)!

Ive been looking at the Cobra sprint series but haven't managed to find anywhere that says how heavy they are, anyone got these and know how much they weigh and what they're like?

Im looking at spending £200-£250 and want to go for some that are as light as possible, suggestions welcome?

Also where is a good place to buy them from?

Cheers
Matt

found this site that list the weights when i was looking at seats a while back:

http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/pages/sbv_pl...&PartType=SCR11

about 7kg by the looks of things, not sure how that compares with others on the market though?

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

7kg's isn't bad and say 1kg I guess for brackets? *oh well*

Rob I like your thinking, but a little out of my price range! I suppose I could just buy one of them instead of 2 of the others. *laughing*

a tad cheaper than Rob's suggestion and still only 4.5kg..... might not be the most comfy on long journeys and cant see them being too strong though...

£185 a PAIR!! there has got to be a catch. Lol

I can imagine a seat like that either fits you and feels comfy or don't and you end up sliding around all over the place. *laughing*

Thats reminded me i'll need some harnesses too. *surprised*

They do some 3.5kgs too.

just be careful the top parts of the seat aren't to wide, other wise it might be a tade tight when fitting.

Hi,
I've got some very similar to those ebay ones in my race Land Rover buggy.
It gets a seriously hard time, I've broken everything but the seats!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Aberdeenshire, scotland.

I noticed you can get alloy solid mounts for seats like cobra monaco;s of adapters so you can use side mounts. Would save a bit of weight because the sliding frames weight a bloody ton.

A friend of a friend owns Fluke Motorsport so I may end up getting one of there seats eventually but it won't be for a long time.

I've got alloy side mounts (FIA approved) for my drivers seat and steel side mounts (not FIA approved as they are slightly too thin) for my passengers seat (passengers seat will be removed whilst racing) and it's quite amazing how much lighter the alloy mounts are.
