Not one for forward planning, I have just finished making a dashboard using the classic mini speedometer. The problem I have is the plenum chamber that sits in the bulkhead box prevents me getting the speedo cable in-line with the connection point, and any bend would be to great.

Does anyone know of or seen a 90 degree adapter for such connections? do they even exist?

A real pain really as I am trying to get the car ready for an mot, that will teach me for not thinking ahead! :)

I could be wrong but I dont think you don't need a speedo for an MOT! *wink*

You legally need a speedo, however it is not tested during the MoT.

I was thinking along those lines, they only really drive it onto the platform and the 'brake' test rollers, would they even notice its operation anyway?

To be honest I would like to sort the problem and have some indication, especially with the amount of speed cameras on the increase!

As Rob says they don't test it, kind of what I was getting at! Lol

Give speedy cables a call they were very helpful when I spoke to them.

I bought one of the land rover angle drives for a few £s and it fits the speedo fine. Haven't put the plenum in yet so can't coment on clearance.

I found these on ebay if anyone else is interested, looks like it would do the job:

I haven't actually ordered one yet because I am waiting for the depth to be confirmed by the seller.
