ive just recieved my turbo back from being rebuilt and it has come back with two extra threaded holes in it.they are at about ninety degrees to the oil feed and return pipes.i presume they are for water coolent to flow through.can these just be blocked of with bolts to stop crap from getting in or do have to be sealed properly.or do you need to run it water cooled due to it being there.

Hi,
I don't think everyone uses the water cooling. My train of thought is if you've got it use it *wink*
It helps prevent the turbo cooking the oil inside it when you shut down and keeps oil temps down when running.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

If you want to plumb it in its not a bad idea providing your water system can cope with the extra heat input.

However if you don't want to plumb it in you can just leave the unions open to atmosphere without a problem, the DON is like this.
