cant upload map onto MJ.....help

not to sure if im using the right software or not but how can i check?
when all is connected,it says on the config screen could not open port, so i changed the ports so they both matched and then something different came up like 'timeout..........'?

so where do i go from there?
ive got a map that ive uploaded but just cant get it on
the mj....

my mj came from martin milner and its dated 06/07

Whaen you have got the map on the screen, click "write ignition configuration" then the icon next to it, commit to flash this should work, do you have power to the mj? I spent hours trying to work this out before realising the unit needed power.

When its running the a blue box should move around high-lighting which area of the map your in. You'll also have the ignition advance gauge and rev counter showing the relivant readings.

Once you think the map is uploaded click "get ignition configuration" that will then sho the current map on the ecu.

ok the fuse was crapso i changed it and now i have a tach reading,
but still ant seem to connect with the mj
im using vr3.0 as thats written on the back of my mj,
im using a serial to usb adaptor do i have to change any settings??

Hi,
With the USB adaptors they can use a com port number up to Com256!
So the chances of it being right are slim!
Go to device manager and click on ports
There should be the name of your adapter, right click then click properties, then click advanced. Here there should be a box to choose the com port number choose 5. The set the MJ software to Com 5 also.
I say 5 because 1 and 2 are reserved at a DOS level from years ago, any internal modem tends to be on Com3...

just popped up there on the way thru. so far its made 178ft/lb and 156bhp@ 12psi and the tester says its still got more to go!but im well chuffed,

but he thinks the MAP sensor in the MJ is tweaking out because it seems to be jumping between the bins or somthing like that, any body else had this problem?
if not im just gonna send it back and get it checked..
