Last year I added a return pipe to the header of the Rad by soldering on a stub with a nice flange behind it. All was OK till today when it started seeping. I have tried 3 times now to resolder it and just cant get it to seal.

Waddya all think of Epoxying the damn thing in instead?? I was thinking of marine grade stuff..

one of my radiator outlet pipes (plastic) is araldited on. and the same pipe on my last rad was also araldited on. the core corroded and ruptured over time. araldite held :)

be carefull what chemical epoxy/metal you use, some are not particularly heat resistant. also if oyu use organic antifreese (the red stuff) i find it attacks and softens some epoxies. so a chemical metal is a better idea. :)

Well I used some waterproof marine grade epoxy and its worked a charm, the return pipe is working great and no sign of a leak.
