i have a austin 1300gt head. ported and polished it today, relapped the valves, refaced it, cleaned up the chambers, painted it red*wink*. im making an engine out of bits i already have for now. it will be turbocharged. low boost, 7-8psi. are the a series valves up to this?

also, can a standard metro turbo actuator be adjusted to 8 psi or do i have to look for one from another car. are there any that are a direct swap?

the head will be put on a non mg metro bottom end, with sw5 cam, possibly with a series rockers bushed to aprox 1.4. hopefully will make a decent 100 bhp

many thanks

I'd change the exhaust valves to A+, or uprated ones. The A ones are soft and rubbish really *wink* Inlets would survive OK.

Remember you'll need new retainers.

Hi,
You'll easily make 100 bananas with that *wink*
I'd adjust the actuator you've got, see how it goes. If you can't get it past six you can always fit a bleed valve under the bonnet to get that last couple of psi.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

You need to change the retainers and valve cotters.
