I thought of that but wouldent it get worse when u depress the clutch as it is it stops all together when u press the clutch in |

Might b a lose flywheel. When the clutch is engaged the flywheel is pushed up sraight and the rattle stops. Just a guess.....

A knackered release bearing normally makes a noise when the pedal isn't pressed. Obviously check all other bolts when the covers off. Edited by Jason G on 5th May, 2008. On 19th Jan, 2010 wil_h said:

Primary gear front bush. I had a similar rattle, it turned out that the bush was FUBAR'd on the primary gear, and it had only done 3k miles!!! Im going to order a floating bush for it.

My Moneys on the Release bearing. They stop rattling with the clutch in, ive had a loose flywheel and i new i had loose flywheel, the engine near shook it self to bits and it wouldnt run right. Edited by MikeRace on 6th May, 2008. 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Yeah can be your drop gears rattling. I know mine rattles in neutral without clutch pressed. Nothing to worry about though. unless it sounds like its gonna fall to bits n pieces. Adriano

if they are sc drops then they will rattle anyway when its warm always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

yes that's the bit number 3 I have a spare off another engine could that cause the rattle |

Yes big style, your lucky it didnt cause any major issues.
