What diagram are you using?
What age car you fitting it too?
What have you got where the fusebox was?

The engine loom on the SPi doesnt have a fusebox, and if you are not using the injection system, you wont need the loom anyway.

Or

are you looking to install all the injection gubbins in a non injection car? Do you have the body loom and the engine loom?

Very confusing what you are trying to acheive with the description you gave

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

ok sorry
will try again.
we have an spi with injection system, and ecu,
we have the engine and body loom.
its the fuse box with the four fuses that we are missing,
is it the power distribution fuses, with the ignition wires going into it.

we are not sure which wires need to be fused together,
we are trying to use the pre 96 wiring diagram for ignition and power distribution (very unsuccessfully)

hope this is more useful
cheers guys

Hi,
Take a look at this diagram

Can you tell me which fusebox it is as there's a 4 way in the car and a 2 way in the engine bay, or is your the one with a big block of fuses on the bulkhead?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

There isnt much different on the SPi body loom between the carb and and SPi models, where the power distribution and fuse box is concerned. Rover was very consistant when it came to wire colours and their use.

right guys, i finally got round to my mates to see whats goin on, we managed to sort the wiring, it was very similer to a clubman.

its not running yet,
what i would say is the injector assembly, is making a clicking sound for about 30 seconds after the key has been removed,
is this normal?

ive never had any experiance with spi's

cheers guys

Hi,
Probably the stepper motor for the idle speed. Don't worry about it until you got it running.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
