Hi there!
Currently building an A+ turbo conversion (hoping to be running 180bhp). My only real worry is keeping it cool via standard sized rad. What rads are you guys using (i.e 2 core etc). Also so stuck on whether to go t2 or t3 turbo whats your views?

thanks

Hi,
I think you'll need a hybrid T2 for 180 bananas, ask Nic what he's running.
GT1752 could be a good choice, ask Robert what he's got out of his?
I think most of the high powered engines are using large front mounted Metro / Nova / Cinequento rads...
Cheers,
Gavin :)

You should be fine using a side mount rad. Supercools 2 core rad is a very good rad.

I would ditch the T3 and go for a more modern turbo and one that is a size more suited to the engine like a T2 or GT1752. The GT1752 is good for 260BHP so you shouldn't run out of puff. I think Roberts is 160ish BHP on only 9psi of boost! *wink*

I am aiming for the same sort of bhp result and i have gone for this http://www.minispeed.co.uk/classic/index.c...ct&id=c-ara4442 i have also plumbed in the car heater as a bit of extra cooling if required. if your going stripped out with no heater you could always put the heater matrix under the bonnet for a little extra cooling if your concerned.

dont forget an oil cooler too.

Where is the best place to find a GT1752?

I'm running a 2 core alloy rad with a supplementary fan and alloy intercooler and have no problems to date.

Nic and MiniWilly run side mounts I believe.

is there much work invloved when adapting the GT1752 turbo to fit. And do all you guys with the t2's use the mirage manifold or justa conversion plate.

Hi,
The GT1752 will go on a metro manifold with the T2 adaptor plate, but not on a mirage manifold. You'll need to make your own downpipe too.
The T2 will go on both of the above manifolds.
When using the metro manifold you'll need a turbo box in the bulkhead but not with the mirage manifold *wink*
