I have blown two of these in the last 100 miles and am now afraid to go out in case my last one gives up -it cost me £150 to be brought home last Tuesday at midnight.Any suggestions as to why this is happening, please ?.Also, is it easy to modify a points distributor to satisfy turbo requirements, as I have two of these. |

12H. Can you please amplify !! for me where you suspect the bad earth - I am getting to the point where I will revert to a points set-up, just so that I can get to an event next weekend 150 miles away. |

No. Giving it the full 12 volts, same as the coil. Are these amplifiers polarity sensitive?.(Just in case I have been a complete prat and wired it in reverse, so to speak(There is a white wire and a black/white wire from the amplifier and I have wired it white to positive on the coil and black/white to the negative- negative earth system. |

Black/white to negative is correct.

Good thinking !! I had thought the earth for the coil was via its wiring,or the distributor body. Thanks for that tip. |
