Ok

My question

Does Motorcycle oil have the same properties as the same motor oil? Say 5w- 40w fully syn for example. would this be as happy in a modern car engine which uses 5w - 40w oil.

The reason I ask is that my friend is a distributor of Ipone motor oil and I can get my hands on any grade at mate’s rates. :)

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i think a fair few people use the motul 300v which IIRC is a bike oil. its good as it obviously has good gear protection...

Many people (including myself) use Agip 10w60 Racing oil on biturbo Maserati. However it's a bike oil, so it's not expected to work well on Mini engines.
The 10w40 300v Chrono is a car oil, the bike 300v version is more expensive.

Its actually for my clio 172 sport.

I use Millers Trans M in the mini, But just reading into this a bit it looks like its just the same stuff. but with inflated prices for the biker boys.

So i'll give it go.

Hi,
Bike oil is different as it has no friction reducers in it due to bikes mostly having a wet clutch.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
