Rather than an SU I use a Jenvey TB for a wet manifold setup. I need to get a plenum made up that will bolt to this, have a 25mm outlet for a dump valve and a 50mm pipe for inlet from an intercooler.

I have a general idea of the shape and have attached a diagram of the TB I use. Sorry for the crap pics, I am in Sales not engineering FFS :)

I realise some of you guys are much more handy than me, so if someone fancies a bash at making one or knows someone that can, let me know please.

Thanks for your help

Hi,
I wouldn't bother, just mount the dump valve in a pipe leadiing to the TB, job done :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Yeah Bat i though about that but the general thought seems to be you need a plenum, If I can get away without one that would be great, save me a ton of hassle too.

Hi,
I hope you don't need one, I've not got one! *surprised* lol!

Hmmmmmm...

Well I've researched it too, mainly on this forum *oh well**oh well**oh well* and seemed to find that a plenum is required with fuel injection and turbo (whether throttle body or port injection) and that it should be either 1X or 1.3X the engine capacity (depending on where the search button took me) but definately should be quite large.

I have designed my own too (different shape, same principle) hence my post a few days ago to see where I could get some preformed/cast aluminium bends.

So I will certainly be using one, as soon as I can get the last bits I need to make it.

Luckily, my project keeps telling me that I'm not in a hurry :):):)

Before going MPi on my 1000 I had digital ignition (same ECU as the MPi) with a carb and stage1 Minispares intake (alu <something>torque).
There where huge MAP oscillations, 10-15kpa depending on the sampling instant in the half/revolution. I could use them to tune the intake length :) .

Even after having switched to MPi with Rover MPi intake I've had to write a special high rate sampling algorithm to cope with oscillations. I don't know what's the intake volume, obviously not enough for 1000.

Just looked at the original pictures again...
I said my design was "different shape, same principle" but it's NOT (well not if I've understood the initial pictures right).
Mine will have the plenum between the throttle body and the engine whereas I think the picture at the top of the thread is suggesting plenum before the throttle body (like the SU setup).

EDIT
But I'm going for port injection, not throttle body, is that the subtle difference ???

Not really. As long as you stay with one throttle it's all the same.
