Aldershot (we are top of the league, say we are...)

Hi all

My standard actuator set at 7psi is proving to be a little unreliable sometimes it boosts at 7 other times 6 so have decided to get a new one, been searching and have read that a standard escort cosworth one will go straight on and run at 10psi. SO i found this on ebay:

will this fit straight on? Also is replacing it as straight forward as it it looks? ie undo 2 nuts that hold actuator to bracket then loosen the locknut and unscrew the shaft all the was so that you can withdraw the actuator?

Just bear in mind that the standard Cosworth actuator relies on a "bleed" valve (a three way Amal valve, sitting on top of the intercooler, controlled by the EMS) to achieve standard boost.

The Amal valve bleeds about 50% of the signal air away until the EMS tells it to stop, so, without this Amal "bleed" valve, the standard Cosworth actuator would open the dump valve a LOT earlier than 10psi. I can't remember the exact figure but I think it's about 0.3-0.4bar (5-6psi).

That's right, 300-400mbar. And AMAL is a piece of shit, it leaks all the time LOL. Modern vavles (pierburg like) are much better.
