I have had a similar thing, my dump valve (a bailey piston one) jammed, I opened it up and the thing was full of petrol.

How could over fuelling be a problem when the Dv is before the carb? 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

that's a good point... all my hoses stink of petrol as well. Something definitely wrong there...

How could over fuelling be a problem when the Dv is before the carb? Yes, but when the butterfly is snapped closed the jet is on the side of the DV. This means that the chance of fuel ending up in the plenum and hence the DV is likely. The other thing is that the fuel found in DVs is mainly on the signal side i.e. fuel from the inlet manifold. This can slowly find its way up the hose. It may therefore be that the DV is full of fuel, collected from the signal hose connected to the inlet manifold, this is then leaking past when the DV is opened, hence the smell of fuel. the design shows a distinct lack of imagination, talk about starting off with a clean sheet of paper, then not bothering to fucking draw on it,lol On 20th Apr, 2012 Paul S said:
I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry. |
