Gains IMO are 1, they dont stretch so time the cam in at what you require and you dont need to run 200 odd miles before the timing is correct. 2, they dont transmit crankshaft harmonics to the valve train.
But saying that Im taking my belt off and putting a chain back on simply cos its lighter.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

the kit in itself is good but they should have used newer belt profiles as the ones used by MS use a rectangular profile (kinda old fashioned) and thus you can not just order a proper and stronger Gates/Pirelli item. minimania do a upgraded version btw.

Hi,
My belt has been on for TEN years, soaked in oil at least twice, never let me down.
If you're running something like a 285 cam it wont stretch like a chain would.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

what you need to do paul is make the big shitty heavy cam gear out of aluminium. [on the belt drive that is, ].

Im running one on my N/A clubby with VP8C cam and ive had no problems except oil leaks from the back plate!!!
I was tempted to run one on the turbo but I stuck with the chain... And I agree with Paul they dont seem to stretch like the chain.

My 3.0 H6 Quad cam Subaru boxer engine has chain driven cams, these chains would be more than long enough I'd have thought?
