dump valve probs

i have fitted a bailey piston dump valve to my mini, the problem is that it stays open for ages and does not shut till i am on full boost. so i cannot cruise properly.
i have taken the vacuum feed from the brake servo take off on the inlet manifold, on the little sticky up thing thats there as standard, i have noticed this is a one way valve into the inlet manifold, do i need to remove this and bypass it or just plum it into somewhere else?

hey mate . mine is in exactly the same place
that one way valve used to feed the breathers i think you will find !!

I just toke that off and drilled it out completely ; loadsa bits of white plastic fall out of it ; then it is no longer a one way valve !!!


I have had no problems with this ATALL ...

Or get a 5/8 unf bolt, drill it through then solder a piece of 1/4" OD tube into it

Because your taking from the brake servo and using a piston dump valve your getting to much fuel contamination which is not good for the seals and the piston sticks. Get a diaphragm type they don't suffer from fuel so much.

You can get special seals for them that dont swell with fuel contamination, someone did post the name of them a little while back but i cant remember who????
