Im looking for a fan for my radiator that is 9" X 40mm (or thinner). Ive found a few on ebay etc. that are about 50-60mm thick but I need one slightly thinner?

Anyone know where I could get one from, either off scrap car/bike or after market jobby?

Cheers

Matt

just a thought, not sure if they'd pull enough air but what about using a couple of slimline pc fans. I think some of the ones used in overclockers cases are pretty powerful.

I'm sure a few people on here will have some info on them.

Do alot of PC Case modding for people, I doubt the 120 fans would be fast enough

Hmmm ive had a search of computer fans, the ones ive found look no where near man enough! *oh well*

If I have to fit 2 smaller diameter fans, they would be easy enough to fit in I would of thought.

one thing to take into consideration mate is that alot of pc-fan components are thermo plastic, not thermo setting so they might melt on a car rad?

That was my other concern and water ingress aswell?

RS do some 12V fans 80mm dia 15mm thick that flow 130cfm so if I could get one 225mm X 40mm it would flow a hell of alot more. I recon 600cfm or there abouts would do it!

a pair of bike fans would be ideal size wise, but people seem to feel they lack oomphh?

Hi,
The 2 fans on my R6 shift plenty of air. They don't kick in till around 110 Oc then you get toasted knees!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Spal make some of the thinnest, but you wont find many thinner than about 2".

Also check out motorbike fans on ebay.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Im in the same situation at the mo!

the mpi seems to be a good option if you ca find one.

dont thing any of the smaller ones will move enough air, the spal ones i have been looking at flow 1090cfm.

spal have a website that tell you all their thicknesses, cant find the link though!

The thinnest I've found is the MPI fan, I'll try and remember to measure mine.

EDIT: Just measured and it's about 50mm - 60mm

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

matty, i've not run a fan on mine yet, not come close to needing one...

the front mounted rad seems to just keep everything cool with the extra water
