Mine made the throw a lot shorter but obviously you need a bit more effort as you have less leverage. Mine is a KAD though and took a few hundred miles to loosen up a bit, I found it hard to go from 2nd to 3rd but it is better now. Plus my cotton reel mounts are really worn so the whole thing is a bit loose. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

i had the old style KAD shifter which was a bit of a pain. Stiff gear changes, but i have bought the new improved version with reverse lift lockout. What a dream. Its like i bought a new car. Adriano

Turbo Tel bought a KAD knock off and they are a disaster, however he posted a thread on how to mod it to make it a bit better. Have a search for it. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Have a search for it. http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=140217 Mines fine, and now its been in a few months its loosening up nicely and I'm getting real slick changes out of it. The only thing is first gear which I have to be a bit patient with but it helps if I apply a bit higher sideways pressure when going for it, otherwise I'm happy and I definitely prefer it to the original stick. Dunno how much you sanded that ball but I only took it down enough to force it in, i.e I kept it real tight, and the lift pin now goes all the way to the top. I guess time will tell if that nylon ball will last.. Edited by Turbo Tel on 19th Jun, 2008. website:- http://www.terryhunt.co.uk

Thats one of the things i fitted without stress lol when got to the engine problems started. Put loads of grease in there and make sure you have a screw in each side to hold the collar. So much better once you get them workin Edited by Zeemax Power on 20th Jun, 2008. |
