After my badger incident yesterday ive diceded to run my fuel lines inside the car. Iver got some polyurethane that we use at work up to about 10bar and I believe this is fuel ersistant too. Has anyone tried using it?

Just thought it would be easier to install and will be a hell of alot lighter and probably cheaper (well free infact from work). :)

This stuff.

Dunk a bit of it in a can of petrol over the weekend to see what happens. If you've not got a jar of blue gooo on Monday you're good to go *wink*

Isnt there something about this stuf not likeing Heat, I feal a taught in the back of my head saying you tryed that befour and It did not work is it termo-setting

I used it for my dump valve vacuum hose and other odds and sods in the engine bay for 3 yers and seemed ok. Not quite the same exposure level but no signs of melting?

Ive got some other stuff, slighter harder but can't find the material name hmmm...

Our equipment goes up to 230 degrees C and it doesn't seem to mind? Lol

thats It I tryed to use it for a Vacume line for Mega Jolt but in went flat as a pancake N/A twin 45's I have no idea what meterial it was made but it was BLUE *Yes*

Ah yeah I had a sililar thing with some clear piping I used, sort of stuff you get for washer jets, that doesn't like vacuum at all!

Ive seen it used for petrol lines before....and a lot of the Methanol injection kits in the US use the same hose.

I wouldnt worry about the hose itself. But over a period of time, the push fit fittings ( if you are using them ) can deteriorate slightly.
This happened with my methanol kit, although it was when using pure methanol, which is nasty.

Yeah I don't trust them push fittings, they do tend to leak in time! *oh well*

Im going to use a barb with collar (like on my plenum) going to a barb fitting to connect it to the "normal" fuel hose?

Id ask the supplier of the hose whether it is fully fuel resiliant. If so, its the stuff they use on new cars, so id use it.

Thats what im thinking, I had a look at some fuel line from a modern car and it looked VERY similar!

Im going to try Gav's test just to make sure its ok but im 99% certain it will be!

I would personaly either use hard wall ally tube or the stainless brade PTFE.

I value my life *wink*

Nothing worse than being in an accident, never mind in an accident with 30 litres of unleaded pumping into the cabin as well

I have to say polyurethane is damn tuff, you can't break it from bending it and it won't work harden like copper or corrode with moisture!

And it looks like the same stuff modern cars use aswell...im off to do some searching...Lol

Hi,
Shouldn't be a major problem if you've got an inertia switch and the pump swithced by the ECU.
You could always cover it over with some ally..
