How do I get an avatar, i've tried many a time with different sizes of images but nothing works??

Hi,
You need to host it somewhere on the internet, ie your webspace or a hosting site. Then put a link to it in the box in my control panel.
IIRC it needs to be 60x60 and less than 50kb.
