Done a bit of searching but no joy, has anyone cross sectioned a 998 block?

If not does anyone have a spare block and a big saw?

I've not cut one up, but I've poked and proded with a rule.

What do you need to know?

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

I'm trying to work out how much meat there is between the bores and in the deck, so I know what I've got to work with when getting the block machined up for my Clubby.

If you strip the block and pull out the core plugs, you can measure most of what you need to know.

Yeah, I can work out a fair bit that way but now I've got the idea of cutting an engine in my head. Just need to find an engine and see how much my machine shop will want to chop it as it's beyond what I'm willing to do with a hack saw.
