Hi all

I have noticed over the last few days that when starting the engine it sounds like a bag of spanners and the "starting noise" sounds very loose. Once engine is started all seems fine. I have inertia type starter and non-verto clutch. Also I have noticed recently that when I depress the clutch pedal I get a whining noise. Could both these issues be related?? Any ideas before I start pulling things apart?

Cheers Rich

Hi,
Take the starter motor out and see it there's any free-play in the shaft or the bendix (big tube bit with the gear on)
While you've got it out try prying the flywheel through the starter hole to see if it's loose on the crank.
Next step start pulling it apart :(
Cheers,
Gavin :)
