ive mounted my alternator on the outside of my engine on my starlet turbo conversion, ive seen this done a few times. but its stopped working after a short while.
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I do run mine backwards on the swift engine, no probs :cool:

sorted it was a wiring issue i.e i got 2 wires wrong way round. doh no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Carl, is the alternator still running ok? I'm thinking ablout turning mine around to make more space up front. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Don't forget the fan guys, if the alt was ment to spin say for instance clockwise and you run it anty-clcokwise it will over heat. Unless you turn the fan trough 180 deg.

sore matt you totly right I ment to say you will need to get a clock or anty-clock fan No idea why I wrote that probly a senior moment :( On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:
