Weird sound coming from my car!

Hi,

took a video of my car, dont know the history of the engine as its the first time its been used since i bought it last year.

Compared to my last mini, i think this car sounds quite whiney? Im not sure if its a transmission noise or something else! Its supposedly a standard 1300 metro engine but the guy I bought it off never used it when he got it off the previous guy before that, who was building it for use on hill climbs!

The idle is really high at the moment as I havnt set it up yet!

Any ideas what the noise could be? I thought it may just be louder because of the fibreglass front but not sure really,

Is it steam powered or something ?

Quite possibly, like I said I dont now whats in it haha.

So it could well be....

its not got SC drops in
just a tad wear on the drop gears would be my guess.

the firberglass bonnet is making it sound a little louder

Hopefully this isnt a serious problem? I hope to have this engine out and replace it with the turbo motor within a few months!

you might will be able to check the drop gears with engine in situ...just a little bit of a mission to do so

if its N/A it will hold out i would change the oil and filter as a tad of insurance
