Hiya fellas
A mate of mine is looking into cutting his Mini into a convertible and was just wondering about bracing and such.

Has anyone here ever done this?Or have you any websites or the like?
How,where and with what would you brace?Considering this is a low budget build and no money will be spent on the engine (madman,I know) so can't push the weight up too much.

Cheers in advance

I looked at a Rover Mini covertible years ago and it had an extra box section on the inside of the inner sill, up the A post and B post

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

stoke-on-trent

might also be an idea to put a nice bit of stainless tube that the roof can go over from b pillar to b pillar.

Seen a few places selling these kits, pretty expensive, but maybe you could see whats been added and make your own.

deffo a good idea, Rover in their wisdom made no efforts to re inforce the A pillars around the screen so if it rolls over your dead meat. i would do what Stefaz suggests if not a half cage type affair MINIMUM !

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
