Has anyone got a cone compressor that I could borrow for a couple of days?

Something seems to have caused the drivers side of my car to drop about an inch.

Cone or Top arm bush maybe??

I'm in the Essexshire / Hertfordshire area, but I'll pay to have it posted to me if need be.

Cheers

Ah, good.

I'll be replacing these when I pop the hi-lows in.

Wish I had done it before putting the engine and gubbins back in though :(

yes 1-3 front 1-5 rear (approx)

unless you have hydro arms in there.

Garry, I also have one if you need it.

Woohoo! Nice one Joe! And you are just up the road.

Is yours the metric threaded blighter?

What's all this height ratio stuff? Is it the difference between the adjustment in the hi-lo and ride height?

I'll be trying to fire mine up tomorow so will be in the garage all day,

mine does both metric & imperial threads,

yes if you shorten the front hilo by 1/3" it will lower the car about 1"

Just for the record, It was the top arm bush. It was a total PITA to get out as it had totally disintegrated.

Many thanks to Joe for the top arm bearing kits and the cone compressor.

Cheers

It was a PITA to get to the nearside, but all went smoothly really. I'm really glad that you had those bearings spare, otherwise I would have had to order some and wait for them to arrive.

I've set the hi-lo's to the same either side, a little higher that I planned, to allow it a bit of room to settle. It sits level now and the knuckles seemed to be in good order (changed them anyway), so it must have been down to the mashed bearing.

How's yours?

wired in the alternator last night so it chargees now, and the lecky fan.

need to bolt down and wire up the fuel pump, cut the front arches and replace the clutch master then take it round the block.
