It seems its that time of year for electrical probs

Righto, car refuses start, the starter (pre-engaged) is completely dead (not even a tick..)

The battery is good, dash and radio, lights @ horn work ok?, so power is definately getting through?

Ive tested the ignition and thats seems fine?

Could the starter be simply dead?

Is the thin wire to the solenoid getting 12v when you turn the key to start?

hmmm, got the battery connected to the main terminal, the brown and red wire connected to the top spade...

i have no white and red, but a plain white that gives 12v when you turn the key all the way to start, and goes off when if flicks back to ignition on.

I connected this up, but it still wont crank over,

i am pretty sure at this point that the solenoid is kaput, so will try a spare starter tomorrow and see if that cures it?

could it be anything else?
