would it be beneficial to put a 1275 gearbox or a 850 gear box on my
mini ? will also be running nos so do i have to lower the compression ratio any more then what i would?

Yes it will be beneficial to put a 1275 gearbox or 850 gearbox on your car, otherwise, the engine will fall on the floor and you won't have any drive.

IMO, the best boxs are A+ 998s.

i got a full 998 engine would it be an ok gear box on that or would i get better torque from a 850 or 1275?

youl find the 850 box will produce alot of torque..

with nos and a turbo will it not be a bad idea

What matters for "torque" isn't so much where the box came from, but what gear ratios it has inside, and especially, what the Final Drive ratio is.
If none of these have been changed since the gearbox left the factory, as a general rule, the smaller the engine, the higher the number of the FD ratio which actually means more "torque" at the driveshafts (so better accelleration) but a lower top speed.
You need to know what the internal ratios (1,2,3) are and what the FD ratio is before deciding.

The ratios won't really be important unless you want to know how many teeth should be broken.
