Has any one tried using one of the user outputs on a mega jolts to switch a relay for a elec rad fan? I've got the new v4 which can take a feed from a temp sensor, i'm not sure the software can switch output on once it get to a certian temp but i do know it can be done from the rpm read out. so i could have the fan running between say 500rpm and 3500rpm, rough geuss in any gear 3500rpm will be above 30MPH at which point i think (correct me if i am wrong) the elec rad fans stop helping the cooler and its all done with airflow.
any one tried it?

Hi,
You really need it switched on temperature because if you're running around town it'll never warm-up.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

To me it sound like a reasonable solution without a temp sensor. Best thiing to do is try it and then tune it. I would advise putting in a switch on the dashboard too though so you can switch it off on cold days.

Can I just say though that this is why I use megasquirt not mega jolt. All of the little thing like this that you think of can be be done with megasquirt and for hardly any more initial outlay.

Wow really digging up an old post. In the end I just got a temp switch and a relay. Seemed cheaper and easier.
