Had the same discussion with powder coaters yesterday. Matt is 30% gloss, Satin is 60% gloss & Gloss 90% gloss.
Which didn't make alot of sense to me....how can something that is gloss only be 90%!

lmao cheers, i think its going to end up being matt black! i have been looking arround for some paint and it seems to be really really cheep compared to satin and gloss. =/

matt is a dull finish with no sheen, satin is a dull finish with sheen, and gloss is all sheen

just painted my car inside & out in satin & it looks SHITE!!! wish i'd have gone matt! :(

oh well my car is rust free & one colour-ish

you cant. no need. polish brings up a shine..wouldnt make sense.

would wet and dery not do the same? i thought you just washed it wish car shampoo/wazh and wax etc and that was the best you can do. i know its a bitch to keep clean.

That would scratch the shite out of it.
A few cheap spray jobs use that method to key prior to painting without using a primer!
