hello all
I have my air filter positioned in the inner wing right up by the scuttle pannel (got no inner wings by the way) but the pipe doubles back on it's self, this morning I was thinking of moving the pipe so it is positioned under the front valence, the air filter won't fit so was going to take it off and put a couple of pairs of tights over the end to stop the shit, the question is is this good enough as I think it will give more air flow
Thanks

Hi,
No way! No tights unless you've torn them off with your teeth!
Proper air filter or nothing, tights don't filter and restrict air flow!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
If your motor is turbo'd, I think so, I don't think a fliter sock will be upto the job.
Have a search round on this site see what pics you can find of how others have done it.
A proper filter in the wrong place will protect the engine, a poor filter in the right place doesn't :(
Cheers,
Gavin :)

if you dont have alot of room and no inner wings cant you do somthing down by an indicator or somthing? you should get a reasonable amount of ait there with a little scoop or somthing and it doesnt get in the way of the engine bay :)

hi
I thought if I put the pipe just under the front valence ( not in the engine bay ) it would act like ram air forcing the air up the pipe as in direct line with the air and not just sucking it in
What do u think

if you make your self a little box to enclose the air filter and put it in a position to get a nice feed of air anywhere where you have free space should work a treat, like you said i could (not sure if it would with the amount a turbo suck in) be like a "ram air" air intake
