Well after being informed that the minispares bolts supplied with the centre main bearing cap are pants (thanks Retired) I have dicided that I need better quality ones.

It is for a small-bore but they are the same thread as big-bore (7/16" UNF). If anybody has an ARP part number, or even better, has some for sale I would really appreciate it

Have you done a search on this? I remember seeing a discussion about this. I had this problem and got some from Rob walker engineering. He has cap head bolts for his centre main kit.

The ARP ones are a special order from the States. I think someone said CAT use the same thread in some of their stuff. FastCarl had some I think.

Hope this helps.

Nick.

I did search but couldn't find an ARP number or an online shop that sold them.

I've already read that thread but most of the links don't suite:
ARP online catalogue only list bolts per application. There is no steel centre main option only 4 bolt main. They probably do a 3.5" 7/16 UNF bolt but they don't give bolt specs so I can't find them.

nolimitmotorsport only list ARP items as per the ARP catalogue

ballsfasteners only have metric listed

toolfast direct supply a minimum of 25. Can't afford that many

APT only list as per the RP catalogue

I can't find who "TMS", as mentioned by Iain, are

The APT part number listed my Mikes1098 yields nothing when I search thier site for it.

Am I missing something?

Hi,

I'm fairly certain its was FastCarl who had the CAT ones (at that time) and sold me a couple. Re-check the thread I posted and see.

Is this worth a "group buy" ???

Rod.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Thanks again for the advice rod. I did see that Carl could supply them but I didn't want to be annoying him with PMs so I started this topic. I may PM him now though

nbooth660, Demon Tweeks also only list ARP stuff per application. Unless I can get an actual part number for what I need then I would only be wasting their time

Have you tried Trident Racing at Silverstone, they sell a lot of fasteners for motorsport applications and will have a 12.9 or 16.9 grade bolt in 7/16 UNF probably in a cap head or AN bolt. Not cheap if you go for AN bolts mind. Use them all the time at work. Give them a call or ask them on email with the required sizes. www.tridentracing.co.uk

I have 2 ARP bolts that are 3.75" long...they are the ones pictured in the link above. They were a 1/4" too long for me...but I have heard of people using them...that is why I got them in the first place. If you decide you want them let me know.

FYI...the ARP part number for 7/16"-20 x 3.5 12pt....is 743-3500

The other PN I referred to in the link above was APT's PN...they told me that they have not updated their website in years...best to just call them *smiley*

Thanks for helping me track these down everyone. Much appreciated. I will track a set down using that part number.
