I've seen a few turbo a-series engines in minis with no body mods.

What turbo do they use and how available are the parts?

Sensible question (sorry)- What Mpg can be achieved with this setup in a mildly tuned 1275?

You'll be talking about the Mirage Motorsport kit. These manifolds are for fitting a T2/25 Turbo and require no bulkhead mods.
Stainless three piece kit, costs £350 iirc
The fastest 5port Turbo Mini in the country uses these, as do plenty of others.

Hi,
You can get 40 MPG apparenlty on a fairly standard 1275 turbo.

i run a no body mod t2 turbo on mirage manifold.

thing you need to realise first:
1. is that you need to mod the turbo to make the actuator sit on the other side which means making a bracket to hold it.

2. that you need to sort out a oil drain from the turbo (can be a pain but is possible)

all of which you will find information on here about :)
