Hi guys, I'm putting a blow superchager setup with eaton m45, and I don't know if is better to use the metro turbo inle or the mg N/A inlet.....

I know that the N/A have better flow, but the turbo one have a different shape to avoid the centre two cylinders running lean when on boost....

What do you think? *Confused*

*Yes*

Hi,
TBH, I don't know. I'm not sure if the turbo inlet was changed for mixture distribution or to move the carb away from the turbo?
I'm going to run the MG N/A on my TBi set-up, albeit upside down, but I don't know how well it's going to work yet...
Cheers,
Gavin :)

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

The Turbo manifold flows nearly as well as the NA MG one, only very slightly less. Fastcarl flowbench tested both i believe.

Just put the one on that fits best for your application. Both are commonly used on turbo motors and there would not appear to be anything in it.

Turbo design manifolds use the Log-type of construction to to keep the mixture turbulent by literally making it bash into the sides of it due to the accute angles used. No?

Is the charge starvation in a turbo totally different from a NA engine; because in NA engines have the outer two cylinders go lean..?

Anyway, this has been on my mind lately since I need to make my own inlet manifold.
I have a theory which is probably completely stupid but I want to run it by you more knowledgable..

My thoughts: since the inlet manifold is presurised in a superchager setup the charge robbing is much less because the charge is already 'waiting' above the inlet valve and when de valve opens the charge is pushed in.
This compared to a NA engine where the charge is sucked in by the pistons..

Is this theory completly stupid?
When it is, can anybody give some pointers on building a manifold?

Thanks in advance,
Han

Hmm, found out that my theory is indeed stupid...

Now to find out why the inner cylinders run lean..??
