Time for some post excavation.

I'm running Smiths 120MPH GT 3 pot clocks. I've replaced the flexi cirucit on the back with this one:

Every time I connect it up it pops the fuse (custom loom with dedicated fused supply to the clocks).

Looking at the PCB, it looks to be connected to the regulator as above. Before I splash out £40 on a new regulator from minispares, does anybody have an opinion on this?

I kind of know the chap who makes them. He did the LED clubman sidelights for my car and I know he is reliable.

Also, could I have fooked anything up in my wiring? My old PCB was badly scorched in places, so the regulator was probably on it's way anywany. My wiring is correct (verified by following the PCB and wired as per the haines book of lies).

OK, so I pulled the regulator out and connected it up, didn't blow the fuse. Joined the battery and instruments terminals with a bit of wire and the fuse still didn't blow. Leaves me thinking fooked regulator.
