Nice pics mate. Yep that has definitely confirmed my thoughts.

This part has signs of "fretting" on the outer diameter and scoring on the inside.


This part on mine where the core goes has enlarged and the bearing is a really loose fit. I have another core and it fits much better but thats worn elsewhere.


This part has signs of contact with compressor wheel and a big divit where im guessing the housing and compressor wheel first touched. The burrs on the wheel confirm this too.


Around my turbine wheel on the housing there is 5 or 6 cracks and I think there is one around my wastegate too.

My inlet stubs were also coated in oil when we took the plenum off although the piston ring on the compressor side looked fine, im uessing that when it was fretting the oil was passing the seal.

Still can't work out where that heat shield thingy goes? Lol

i think that on my bosses 1749v the little sheild was underneath the Turbine. dont hold me to it though as im only about 90% and wouldnt want something going wrong with anyones because they did that!

I'm that pathetic I can't even get the nut off the shaft on my turbo! I would dearly like to rebuild it.

I'll try and take some pics of mine as a comparison. I have another project lined up for my old gt17 now that will probably blow it up in spectacular fashion!
