I've been having a bit of a problem with the plugs in the BOC, it's still running the MG Metty engine that I put in as a stop gap three years back, only mods being a stage 1 kit and MegaJolt.

In the past I've always used NKG BPS ES plugs on NA engines (currently got a set in the Midget and that's running a treat) but with MegaJolt should I switch to resistive plugs, ie BP6 R ES?

Yeah resistive plugs are supposed to be used, although it didn't seem to make any difference on mine! lol

Hi,
I run BPR7ES on the 1380, 6s should be fine on a standard engine. Resisted plugs cut down on interference *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Cheers guys that's exactly what I thought, now I need to figure out why two BPR6ES plugs died simultaneously after about 18 months. As an aside it was plugs 2&4 that died, very strange.

I've got BCR8ES plugs in mine.

Are they suitable? They seem to die with the slightest drop of oil on them.

I may be being dim, but isn't the resistive 'R' more to do with radio interference than a performance thing ?

I could have been mislead however...

OEL if they are so sensitive to a bit of oil they are too hard (cold)for the job-try a grade lower. In my experience NGK,s dont take well to being cleaned,so once they are fouled its new ones every time.

With the NGK's the higher the number the colder the plug. ie 8= cold and 6=hot. Champion plugs on the other hand are the other way around ie 9=hot and 6=cold.
If the BCR8ES's are fouling try the BCR7ES's. Hope that helps
