Just had my block back form RobWalkerEngineering and one of jobs was two holes drilled and tapped for an 11 stud head fixing....

problem is...

the hole/thread (water pump end) is smaller in diameter than the other that was drilled and the other previous 9! The hole has also been drilled far enough down to enter the water jacket.

What's up with that?!?

Anyone seen this before?

Can you get smaller diameter studs?

Yes you can get smaller diameter studs.

As for going into the water jacket this is not a big problem just use some hydraulic sealer on the threads to stop any water being forced through.

I have to say though, really these questions should have been directed to Rob Walker engineering, as it could be construed as painting them in a bad light posting the questions on here.

sounds like perfectly normal engineering but he should have told you about the smaller stud required

normall thing for the drillings to break through into the water jacket when going to 11 studs.

just crack some thread sealer on the bolt before you put it in.

remember the bolt in the water pump end is only torqued to 20lb/ft not 50, like the rest of them
