Whats the general capacity or dimensions of the average catch tank? 1/2 to 1 litre ?
mini13 kindly gave me some 3" & 4" ally tube to fabricate one & possibly let me use his TIG. *wink*

My TIG skills are not the greatest, but rather make one than pay silly cash for one. I don't require filters, just a basic container with a pipe connection on it.

just look on ebay matey, they come in all shapes and sizes, i have seen many beer cans/ pop cans/ redbull cans used on low budjet builds so i would go for some thing around that scale :) dont forget them pics when your done *happy*

1/2 litre - 1 litre sounds about right, you've only got 5L of oil to start with.

By my crude mental arithmetic 3" diameter by 4" long is more or less a litre.

463cc by mine??? A coke can isn't a million miles off 3" X 4" so it would be nowhere near a litre.

I did have a plastic bottle, but just want to tidy the engine bay up abit. Car was left outside for awhile...did a few laps and ended up with water/oil all over one side of the car!

Yes am sure the blue book says min of 1 1/2 ltr bottle, am sure joh flan will no ?

Theres no restrictions like that on the metros. I think Jons got a plastic bottle too.

Racing in Norway requires the catch tank to be at least 2 litres.

The blue book states 2 litres for engine capacities under 2000cc and 3 litres for cars over 2000cc. It also states that the cross section must be greater than 46 sq cm, for what reason I don't know.
