Hi,

I am fitting a metro electronic distributor into my mini until i get my megajolt sorted.

I need to find out which terminal is positive and which is negative on the amplifier (black box) mounted on the side of the distributor.

There are two terminals, one being perpendicular to the line of the dizzy, the other running parralel to it.

Would really appreciate the help so I can wire it up and test the engine.

Cheers

Jon

Hi,

I found this in the link posted, not sure which is the top of the module?

"with the module on the right the connection at the top connect to the + side and the bottom one to the - side of the coil"

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Jon

That is presuming the module is fitted to the side of the distributor. Can you post a picture up of yours?

For the two pin modules only.

The one that is parallel to the long face of the module and plug (and should be at the top if the dizzy is in correct with the module to the right, looking from the front) is the white wire and goes to coil +ve.

The one that is at right angles to the long face of the module and plug (and at the bottom if dizzy is in right etc...) is black/white and goes to coil -ve.

Note the coil must be the black one marked "use only with breakerless ignition", not the 12V lucas or ballast lucas (or equivilants)

EDIT - as per dizzy orientation in photo, +ve top, -ve bottom
