Alright chaps,

Does anyone know what the torque for the bolts that hold the flange that sits on the crank, to the pressure plate (not sure what the flange is actually called).

Ive looked through my Haynes but it doesnt actually show the flange separated from the pressure plate, so doesnt give a torque for the bolts. Ive looked on here aswell, but with no joy.

Also, has anyone ever had any trouble with head studs and nuts from mini spares? I went to torque them up to 50 lbf ft and got to about 45 and it feels like the thread in the nut is about to strip, one of them actually did strip, its a joke. Ive tried 3 different torque wrenchs aswell, to try and work out if they are wrong, but they all do the same.

Thanks,

Ben.

I presume that you have a verto clutch?

The figure is in the book, try the suplementary section.

As for head studs. Never had a problem with the ones from MS but have had the problem you describe with other suppliers. Speak to MS and send one back so they can test it.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

The last verto clutch i did, i didnt use locktite and the bolts came loose, the engine wouldnt revv and would stall.

So i locktited the bolts in and its been fine ever since.

I had mine come loose once...just every so slightly.

It made the weirdest every squelchy sort of sound. I simply couldnt figure out what it was !! I thought my box was knackered, and took the damn thing apart to find it ok. The discovered the flywheel boss bolts werent tight enough !!
Not loose by any means, just not tight !!

Cheers guys! All torqued up now!

Also, I tried some nuts I got from 'richminiturbo.' and they torqued up fine, so I think its definatly a bad batch of nuts!

Thanks again,

Ben.
