hi i'am wanting some info on an engine i have looked at engine codes on the web and in a few mags but cant find any info.the code is 12hc01aa can anybody help me out.

that aa at the end seems to denote an MG Metro Turbo but can't find any engine code with a hc01.

133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi

If you google that engine number you get very little.

Are you sure it is not 12HC10AA ?

That would be from a 1986 1.3 Metro van.

I just went out and checked an engine i have in the garage, same code, but origens are suspect. its been there unmoved since about 1990. belived to be 1.3 from a regular metro with original rep of irl chassis no. i dont know this as fact though, ill ask the previous owner.
