does anyone know the right way these fit into the barrel, i have forgotten how they cam out. Thanks

They should have little dimples in them for the brass grub screw that holds them in place that should give you a fair indication. But generally the wide parts go to the filter side tapering to the manifold side.

got the dimple thing, so i am clear, the choke with the small tube in the centre, the wider part of this small tube should be facing me?

IIRC they will only go in one way? i.e. teh dimples are slightly offset to the centre to stop you doing it wrong?

will need re jetting again, been to see john today, suggested to get the tps up and running, change the exhuast, and maybe put those ram pipes in. He did say don't bother changing the exhaust and inlet manifold just yet, he did not feel it would benefit. so i will see how it goes. try the cheap options first
