Hi, My mini starts really well when cold but after it has warmed up it will occasionally stall at traffic lights and will struggle to start again :( ..... After it has cooled down it starts ok.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fuel pressure or fuel evaperation, coil losing effiency when hot and/or spark plugs doing same.

Check your fuel pressure, this happend to me. Fuel evaporation usually occurs a little while after its been sat not straight away.

Hi,
Could be the ignition module breaking down, get one of those orange plastic spark testers you stick on top of the spark plug, least then you'll know spark or fuel that's the problem *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Does it run really rough when it starts again? Mine was doing that, spark was fine, carb was fine, but my valve clearances were way too tight. Worth a look.

a LIL fishing village on the coast - Newcastle Upon Tyne

damn i was gonna say the heat shield too.

Mark used to work out when he was near home when he could switch the fuel off to the carb, so it would cut out as it got to his driveway, so if he had to hot start he could flood the carb with cold fuel, and he avoided issues, never experienced it myself not having an engine that runs yet

In the garage......again!!

Got a similar issue with my NA metro engine, after hard motorway driving and coming off a slip road it cuts out at the junction and is a bastard to start, i'm putting it down to evaporation.
