I've had 14 (out of 16) seriously bent valves when a belt stripped a few teeth then picked up drive again....

But none broke.

I guess mine were stinking hot at the time so quite ductile, and these were stone cold ???

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

fucked the timing

the story i got is that he changed the belt where the engine stopped rather than pinning the cams and setting it to its correct timing marks

ouch, i bet it wasnt even marked when he did it, definately not the way to do it but it might have saved your engine!

we wont do a cambelt without having the correct timing pin set! too much to risk!

Hi,
I know how you feel with a lack of time to do things, but that reminds me why I do all my own work. :(

Here, here the only other person who Is allowed to approach any of my cars with spanner in hand is my brother, because I know in the other hand will be a torque wrench and manual.
