my lecturer at uni always goes on about aircraft and how they have to be perfectly ballanced otherwise they shake themselfs to bits, blade material cant creep ether and blades cant revolve too fast otherwise they go supersonic quite easy David. |

In that vid they are actualy testing the fan blade module to make sure it can withstand the force of a fan blade letting go. I believe the engine in the vid was a trent. That vid is quite old, the fan caseing is lined with Kevlar and indeed does contain the force of a blade letting go. Own the day
