Hi Guys,

I have been offerd (for free *smiley* ) A LPG kit to go on a carb, no i was thinking LPG cheap Mini cost lots to run.. put togher and what do you get Mini that still cost lots to run but alittle cheaper on fuel... maybe.
Just wondered if any one has messed about with LPG?

i know somone used one for there 16v turbo i think it was rob?? the fiat head on mini block that was run on lpg. neil (wolfie) runs lpg on his 406 estate but dont know anyone who uses a carb one

i've wondered about doing this as my local garage does lpg,

usually getting a car converted is about 2k so you need to do a fair aount of miles to recoupe the cost, but if you got the kit for free then its got to be worthwhile assuming all the bits are there.

Hi,
LPG should be ideal for turbos as it is more det resistant than petrol, I think it is an equivalent to 110 octane?
I'm thinking about it, but I'm running out of room in the car to put the tank and under-bonnet parts! *surprised*

so over all looks like it mite be a good idea. I will get me hands on the kit and post some piccys up. Mite work very nicely with me supercharger.

my friend has a saab 9000 2.3 turbo, on lpg, he chipped it last year and is running 1.2 bar on an entirely stock engine, no problems what so ever

i ran my auld corolla dx on lpg, i still have all the stuff though the car is long gone.
ill be keeping my eye on this as its tickled my fancy.

How does the carb connections work?
And, would you intend running this in a turbo?

Iv just though of my first problem with the kit i have......
and thats the size of the tank!!! DOH!!

It will have to go in the back seats! as its nearly 4ft long. minor oversight there on my behalf!

Hmmmmm good thinking,
even more interested in this now!!
must keep my eye on the prize though. have to rebuild my turbo first, or again, to be accurate. i left out the retaining circlip/spring washer that locates the shaft and wheel into the hot side of the cartrige!! DOH *oh well*
just realised this morning, smokey joe time.
