I am currently building a custom mini and will be making some bespoke carbon/kevlar wheel arches for it. I am trying to decide on what type of arch look to go for.

Do you guys prefer the wider looking sportspack look or a more refined and understated look on your minis? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I think miglias look the best, wide and good angles.

Miglias look goot on saloons and clubbys, sportspacks are cool too, quite common but only suited to the saloon imo

Its not the width of the arches that give the look but the lines they create when fitted correctly. I will only fit the Fortech Super wide arch kit's for the sole reason its ultra difficult to get the lines right and its very satisfying when you do.

Fit what you like the look of period! And dont settle for anything but your most perfect effort. *wink*

Most on here frown at mine but I love it and thats all that matters:)

The best looking arch will still look odd if it does not match the wheel and tyre combo.

No point in a Miglia arch to cover anything less than a 7" rim.

Likewise you dont want too much tyre sticking out, just a bit.

Yeah definatly depends on what size wheels you have. What do you have?

I like the low, wide and fat look. Same as my women.

manx if its any help.

You can take a mold of my miglia arches.

However a deposit of 100 pounds as they are carbon and you pay the postage both ways.

Thanks

Sam.

wheel and tyres together with the overall style will have a significant influence on the choice.

I've gone for GP5 euros on mine because they fitted and suited the overall scheme. However, I'd go something like the GP2's or works arches on an early car.

the fit and presentation propbably makes more of a statement than the arches themselves though

I am going to be running 12" weller wheels (bought them from richminiturbo on here) on the mini. I like the look of the grp5 euro arches as they are wide but don't look to overkill. I am making custom sideskirts from carbon/kevlar aswell so I need to find an arch that blends with them nicely. It's getting the perfect fit which will be the challenge as it's running a flip front and i'm guessing the flex in the fibreglass could be an issue when trying to get a flush fit with the arch. Does any one have many problems fitting arches to their fibreglass front ends?

I hated having to cut my carbon miglias in half for the flipfront on my car.

You could leave the arches in one piece and find a way of just clipping the arch to the a-panel once the front is in place.

Im going to get a 2 piece clubman front with a-panels included, that way I can leave the arch as one piece!
