Hi,

I am due to have my crank reground and I have been advised that it will need +0.020 taken off to remove the excessive wear to the central main bearing.

I dont particularly want to shell out another £75.00 for non exchange, do you think regrinding this amount is OK? I dont intend on reving it past 7000rpm.

Ps It hasnt been reground before.

yep, tis fine.

cranks are used ground down for S rods, (-120thou IIRC)

have it tufftrided though.

Use a decent machine shop though....

The 20 thou certainly isn't an issue but making sure the grind finishes in a proper radius, and not a sharp corner, most certainly is an issue.
