The gearshift in the mini does feel long, I am going to cut down the gearstick and see if that has a dramatic effect on how it feels, however was just wondering what peoples opinion of the kad one is.

I have seen a youtube video with one in and it does seem very shot indeed, is there any trouble with finding the wrong gears, or does it just take a little getting used to.

Those who have a KAD one, would you buy one again.

Any other thoughts on the matter welcome

Thanks
James

Yeah i've got one, and would get one again if I had to but as with all the KAD stuff the price is quite a disadvantage!

It took me a bit of getting used to, and the shift throw is alot shorter and is great once you get used to it. Reverse is easy to select with the pull up collar, but for some reason my collar has come away from the plastic sleeve so wont work sometimes!

Dont be tempted to get one of the copy ones on ebay theyre no good.

Thanks, If I go for one it will be a KAD one. I will hopefully cash it in as a christmas present!

It improves the feel no end, first and third get quite close to each other, so does second and fourth but as people say you get used to it. It does require a little more effort to shift as the fulcrum is moved up but yeah it's a good buy alright.

Cant really see how they would? It's the same motion as when changing with a normal gear stick

Hi,
I guess you could wear the syncros out faster as you're moving them quicker, hence the term quickshift.
Having said that I ran one for 10 years before the bearings went in the box, but the syncros were still good :)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Thanks for the heads up on the spelling I’m hopeless with it and i openly admit it also did not help trying to post quickly at work.

But u might want to take not of graemec's *tongue* re-correction *tongue*

Don't mess with the V, he has better english than me (wait that rhymes...). Plus he was pointing out the use of the word bRought which can be difficult to cope with when you have such good command of the english language.
